Pakistani Tekken 7 Player Won EVO Japan 2019

Evo Japan has become a great step into the fighting game community and brings a lot of good talent around the world. Last weekend’s Tekken 7 competition at Evo Japan was no different but one surprising champion named the title. Evo Japan 2019 winner was a relatively unknown Pakistani player whose performance ultimately dominated across Japan’s fighting games championship.

The winner is a 23-year-old Pakistani who goes by the name of Arslan Ash. He is a Tekken 7 player who competed for the game in Evo Japan 2019. During the post-tournament interview with ESPN sports, Arslan explained his trip to the event as “very difficult”.

One of the most prominent problems that are faced by Pakistanis is issuing of foreign visa and the same thing happened to Arslan who went from a very laborious process to receive a Japanese visa. Arsalan had to take a total of five flights started from Lahore to Fukuoka. After many delays and he was finally able to get to the Evo Japan within an hour before Tekken 7 pool started for the event.

Competitive gaming is not huge in Pakistan but it didn’t bring Arslan down an inch to show his talent among World’s best players. Last year Tekken 7 champion was ‘Knee’ who is known to be one of the best players for Tekken 7. Surprisingly Arslan was able to take him down.

The most surprising thing is Arslan haven’t ever participated in any major gaming events and gone straight head to head with the world champion of Evo Japan. Some of the community is talking about Arslan being lucky while they aren’t aware of the accomplishments. He didn’t just take out ‘Knee’ with his luck spirit, but he also managed to fight with from a pool of 512 best players at Evo Japan 2019.

Evo Japan 2019 winner was awarded 1.5 million Yen which are almost 19 lakhs Pakistani rupees. Needless to say, Arslan has joined Pakistani gaming prodigies like Sumail in the gamers hall of fame in Pakistan.
